St. Simons Island Estate Garden Wedding

POSTED IN: Wedding

In the beginning stages of planning their wedding, Erica really wanted a small, intimate wedding, but Michael wanted a big party. While it was a devastating turn of events, Hurricane Matthew came along and caused both to become a reality. While most weddings were rescheduled, Erica and Michael were able to move forward with the ceremony portion of their day just around the same time Matthew hit. With family nearby, they had a very small, intimate and lovely sunset wedding ceremony at Michael’s uncle’s backyard waterfront estate. And about a month following, we arranged to have everyone meet at the same place again for the huge party Michael wanted, with a first look and a bridal party visit over to Avenue of the Oaks. I absolutely loved how their little dog Charlie stayed right by their side, and Michael’s uncle’s big fluffy goldie – named Walter – made his rounds during the party as well! Since it was an outdoor event, the ladies were greeted upon arrival by a table with heel protectors on – how thoughtful of Erica! And the guys had a smoke bar with a range of cigars and cigarettes to enjoy along with a snifter of whiskey while they enjoyed the rousing tunes of live band from Emerald Empire. And they guests all enjoyed the creative photobooth setup with fun props and an absolutely stunning gold frame held by guidewires between two palm trees. The coups de gras of the evening, though? A huge fireworks show orchestrated by the groom, followed by a super fun sparkler exit and golf cart getaway! Such a fun night with so many great friends to celebrate the – albeit earlier – marriage of Erica and Michael! Congratulations Mr + Mrs Torras!
