When severe thunderstorms in Savannah threatened Natalie and Matthew’ engagement session, we were on the phone in flash, working till the day before to decide where to hold it just in case. Our back up was so much better, because it was much more personal to the couple. They currently live in Gainesville, Florida, and both of them grew up in nearby Suwannee County. And as it just so happens, Matthew’s family has quite the piece of property. One piece of the property has a private drive that has quite the nod to the Savannah oak-lined streets. And all the little incorporations of family in the session was my favorite! The electrical spool was draped with a quilt that Matthew’s grandmother made for him when he was a little boy. The tractor has been in the family for three generations, and even Natalie and Matthew’s sweet little lab mix puppy, Knox, came along for the ride the entire time! And speaking of ride, can we just give Natalie a huge shout-out for her first time EVER being on a tractor?! Matthew is quite the firearms fanatic, so he brought along some fun favorites that we incorporated. I love both the 20s Chicago feel with the shoulder holster, as well as the down-home country vibe with his custom stock rifle. I absolutely loved spending the afternoon with both Natalie and Matthew, and Matthew’s family, as they graciously hosted us on the farm, and it felt like an afternoon with the family! Which is probably why our session lasted for three incredibly joyful hours! I am so excited for their wedding in December – in Savannah this time! – and can’t wait to make it back for another fun weekend in the country with them!
